Trig Ruler

You can design a trigonometric ruler that would show the trigonometric values of Sine, Cosine, Tangent, Cotangent, Secant and Cosecant on the scale.

The ruler consist of three scales namely Hypotenuse, Base and Perpendicular and a circular disc measuring 0...360 . The length of each scale is 1 unit divided into 100 smaller units.

Measure Sine of an angle:

Suppose you want to measure Sin of 30 ; align the Base plate to 0  of the circular disc; align the hypotenuse to 30  and align the freely suspending Perpendicular to Base so that base and Perpendicular form a right angle. Read the value from the Perpendicular scale where the Perpendicular and Base scale intersect.

Measure Cosine of an angle:

Align the scales as shown in the previous example but this time read the value from the Base scale where the Perpendicular and Base scale intersect.

Measure Tangent of an angle:

Align the scales as shown in the previous example but divide the value of perpendicular to the Base scale where the Perpendicular and Base scale intersect
